We love to travel, but have discovered that travelling with children has "complicated" things. Here we share ideas for travelling as a family to fun places in the US and we pretend to "travel" to places around the world in order to continue experiencing new cultures. Please COMMENT about favorite your experiences while visiting these places. Bon voyage!

Gettysburg
We recently visited Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The Visitor Center is new (renovated 2008) and much larger than the previous visitor center. It is excellent with great displays and videos. We especially liked the introduction film and the newly restored Cyclorama exhibit. Our 6-year-old really loved the visitor center too. He was especially fascinated with information about the USS Montior and CSS Virginia (aka USS Merrimack). Our younger daugther was not as interested and said that she wanted to see some girl things. Luckily I did find this fun apron . . .
We bought the audio auto tour cd and liked it. There were many versions, we chose the "dramatized" version and thought it was a good choice for a family with kids. The kids enjoyed climbing ALL the observation towers.
