Christmas Around the World

This is our first year to stay home for Christmas.  We've always gone to one of our family's place.  So, because we are on our own, we are also on our own with traditions.  While our famlies celebrate Christmas in very similar ways, there are still little traditions that are slightly different, so we need to decide.  One is what to eat for Chrismas Eve dinner.  C can't remember what his family does, but I think they may have had a big ham, turkey, or roast dinner???  My family used to have takeout pizza, but now they have tamales.  We thought of doing the tamales but aren't sure that we can find good ones in this area.  I asked my friend AS what she does and she mentioned that she likes her inlaws tradition of having roast beef sandwhiches because it's not a lot of work.  My friend KG from Poland told me about the traditional Polish Christmas Eve dinner of 12 dishes including borscht, homemade perogies, and other dishes and traditional desserts.  What is your tradition?
